Huijue Group Introduces a Solar-Overlay Architecture for Existing Telecom Sites

Huijue Group 2026-03-23

Huijue Group has released an overview of a solar-overlay architecture for communications sites. The concept adds photovoltaic generation to an existing site power system, typically through an MPPT-controlled DC path connected to the site’s DC bus. The existing utility and rectifier arrangement remains available, while solar generation is used as an additional input rather than requiring a complete power-system replacement.

How the overlay concept is arranged

A typical configuration includes PV modules, mounting structures, a solar or MPPT controller, protection and distribution equipment, metering, communications hardware and the existing -48V DC load. Battery storage can be incorporated when the project also requires backup support or greater use of locally generated energy. Monitoring data may be sent to a local computer or remote management platform, depending on the selected controller and communications interface.

This architecture is relevant to existing macro sites, rooftop equipment rooms and outdoor cabinet installations where the operator wants to add renewable generation while retaining proven parts of the current power chain. The mechanical arrangement can vary substantially: roof-mounted modules, ground structures and selected vertical mounting concepts each have different wind, shading, access and load considerations.

Engineering checks remain site-specific

A solar overlay is not a plug-in decision based only on PV wattage. Engineers need the DC load profile, bus voltage, rectifier arrangement, battery condition, available installation area, structural limits, solar resource, cable route, protection coordination and remote-monitoring requirements. Thermal conditions inside the power or battery enclosure must also be reviewed. Our telecom power and site-energy family can be assessed together with suitable outdoor cabinets and thermal-management infrastructure.

Where the announcement fits in the portfolio

The release is best understood as a system architecture rather than a single fixed product. Its value lies in coordinating generation, conversion, storage, distribution and monitoring around the existing site. The final bill of materials and control strategy should be selected from measured load data and the operator’s resilience targets.
