Passive optical distribution
Match splitter or WDM architecture to wavelength plan, ratio, package and insertion-loss targets.
Threaded metal SMA fiber connectors and adapters for multimode or plastic-fiber assemblies, with selectable ferrule and cable constructions.
SMA Series Fiber Optic Connectors and Adapters use a threaded metal shell for equipment-side fiber connection. The current series supports ceramic, metal or non-metallic ferrule approaches and can be applied to multimode glass fiber or plastic optical fiber, depending on the selected assembly.
SMA fiber interfaces have several construction variants, so the mating receptacle, ferrule bore, fiber type and cable outside diameter must be established before manufacture. Optical performance and mechanical pull values are tied to the actual ferrule and cable design.
Provide the mating SMA interface, fiber material and core size, ferrule construction, cable diameter and finished length. The listed -40°C to 80°C range is associated with the metal-housing configuration; other custom constructions need separate review.
Huijue Group can assess OEM SMA assemblies using a customer drawing or mating sample, including cable, ferrule and private-label packaging. Bore size, concentricity, tensile requirement, optical test and tooling feasibility must be confirmed before production.
| Parameter | Multi-Mode (MM) SMA Plug |
| Return Loss (dB) | ≥35 |
| Insertion Loss (dB) | ≤0.3 (Typical Value), ≤0.5 (Maximum Value) |
| Plugging/Unplugging Cycles (Times) | ≥500 (for Ceramic Ferrule) |
| Operating Temperature (℃) | -40~+80 (for Metal Housing) |
| Tensile Strength (N) | ≥90 (for 43), ≥70 (for 42), No such requirement for 40.9 products |
Use strain relief appropriate to the selected cable and keep the threaded metal parts and ferrule clean. Do not transfer the listed metal-housing temperature range to a different custom material without validation.
Buyer Questions
Answers specific to SMA Series Fiber Optic Connectors and Adapters selection, configuration and purchasing.
Plastic optical fiber is listed as an option, but its fiber size, ferrule bore and termination process must be specified.
No. Ferrule material, bore, fiber type and mating geometry can differ, so a drawing or sample is important for matching an installed port.
Use the deployment context to narrow the configuration before comparing dimensions, capacities and options.
Match splitter or WDM architecture to wavelength plan, ratio, package and insertion-loss targets.
Coordinate connector, polish, fiber grade, polarity and cable length across patching points.
Plan MPO/MTP trunks and harnesses around port mapping, breakout format and rack density.
Select splicing, cleaning and test tools for the connector types and measurements used on site.
Before quotation: confirm capacity, interfaces, installation environment, power conditions, quantity and required options.
