Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexer (CWDM) Series

Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexer (CWDM) Series

A passive CWDM multiplexer/demultiplexer using 20 nm channel spacing for metro-access and optical transmission capacity expansion.

Product Features

  • 20 nm channel spacing on the listed ITU grid.
  • Two- through sixteen-channel arrangements in the current loss table.
  • Adjacent-channel isolation ≥30 dB and non-adjacent isolation ≥45 dB.
  • PDL and PMD each listed at ≤0.1.
  • Supports full-duplex or half-duplex system layouts when configured accordingly.
  • Reference package size is 80 × 58 × 6.6 mm.

Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexer (CWDM) Series combines signals at different wavelengths onto a single fiber and separates them at the far end. Its 20 nm channel spacing supports wavelength expansion where a coarse grid meets the reach, transceiver and loss requirements.

The current optical table covers two, four, eight and sixteen-channel loss levels. The component is passive, but the complete link still depends on CWDM-compatible transmitters, a defined wavelength plan and sufficient power margin.

Selection & Configuration

Specify every wavelength, mux/demux direction, channel count, common and optional pass/monitor ports, connectors, fiber leads and housing. Confirm transceiver wavelengths and include the selected channel count's insertion loss in the end-to-end budget.

Manufacturing & Customization

Huijue Group can review OEM CWDM modules, private-label port legends and drawing-based packages. A customer channel schedule can define the build; filter plan, connectorization, optical acceptance, sample approval and production quantity require confirmation.

Buyer Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers specific to Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexer (CWDM) Series selection, configuration and purchasing.

How does CWDM differ from DWDM?

This CWDM series uses a 20 nm coarse grid, while the listed DWDM family uses much closer 100 or 200 GHz spacing. Optics and channel plans are not interchangeable.

Does a CWDM module need power?

The passive mux/demux component itself does not; the optical transmitters and receivers are powered equipment.

Can unused channels be added later?

Expansion is possible only if the original channel plan, module ports, transceivers and link budget allow it. Define the future wavelengths during design.
